All life forms are interdependent on others for their survival, and within the multitude of life forms nature finds a balance.

There is an intricacy within nature, a detailed complexity that is not always seen, let alone understood.

We can easily observe and marvel at a tree yet seldom see or realise the life that it supports.

 

My aim was to develop an art piece that highlighted the subtle / less obvious life form coexisting alongside the more evident. I used nature itself to highlight this point, I felt I did not need to recreate what was already done for me, merely bring it to the viewer’s attention.

 

This I did with a natural oiled shrub root as the support for a vine that I gilded with copper leaf.
